Tripoli is the capital and largest city of Libya, situated on a rocky peninsula extending into the Mediterranean Sea. Founded by Phoenicians in the 7th century BC, it has served as a vital commercial and manufacturing hub throughout its history. The city is home to the University of Tripoli.
