Summary

Łapy is a town in Białystok County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, located on the Narew River in the North Podlasie Lowland of north‑eastern Poland. Its name derives from a Masovian family and the settlement grew around a 15th‑century trade route linking Suraż and Gdańsk. From 1954 to 1975 it was the seat of Łapy County and today it functions as a regional medical and educational centre.
