Araxá

About the place: Araxá is a city located in the west of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, in the Triângulo Mineiro region. The city is famous for its spa resorts with therapeutic mineral waters and muds, as well as being one of the world's primary sources of niobium.

Flag Description: The flag consists of a white rectangular field with the city coat of arms centered. The coat of arms features a shield divided into five sections: the upper white chief displays a radiant golden rising sun. Below it, the main shield is divided quarterly: the first blue quarter depicts a water spring, the second green quarter shows a palm tree, the third green quarter features three mounds, and the fourth red quarter displays four horizontal silver bars. The shield is flanked by stalks of maize and coffee, and beneath it lies a white ribbon with the Latin motto "UT OMNES MEMINERINT".

Symbolism: The white field symbolizes peace and purity. The city coat of arms illustrates the region's natural and economic riches: the rising sun and mineral spring represent the spa history of the town, while the agricultural elements (corn, coffee, and palm) symbolize local farming and flora. The Latin motto "UT OMNES MEMINERINT" translates to "So that all may remember".
