Summary

About the place: Běhařov is a small municipality in the Klatovy District within the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest approximately 11 km southwest of Klatovy. It is known for its rural charm and a local baroque chateau.

Flag Description: The flag consists of a blue horizontal stripe occupying the upper five-eighths of the hoist width, and seven vertical stripes alternating white and red in the lower part. In the blue stripe is a white, yellow-ornamented armored arm holding a white oriental scimitar with a yellow hilt pointing toward the upper fly corner. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The armored arm wielding a scimitar in the upper blue field represents martial heritage, defense, and chivalric virtue associated with the medieval knights and lords of Běhařov. The seven alternating white and red vertical stripes (originating from the three red pales in the lower field of the municipal coat of arms) allude to the wooden palisades/fortifications of the historic local stronghold as well as historical partition of the estate among heirs.
