Summary

About the place: Bělá nad Radbuzou is a border town in the western part of the Domažlice District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, situated along the Radbuza River at the foothills of the Bohemian Forest near the German border. It is renowned for its historic baroque stone bridge adorned with statues of saints.

Flag Description: The flag consists of five horizontal stripes: blue, three wavy on both edges (white, blue, and white), and a wavy red stripe, in width ratios of 8 : 1 : 1 : 1 : 3. In the upper broad blue stripe is a white couped bridge with six arches and heightened piers between the first and second, third and fourth, and fifth and sixth arches. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The dominant charge on the flag and coat of arms is the white stone bridge, representing the town's most prominent landmark – an 18th-century baroque stone bridge crossing the Radbuza River. The undulating white and blue stripes symbolize the flowing waters of the Radbuza, with white also canting on the town's name (Bělá meaning "white"). The red stripe at the bottom completes the traditional Bohemian territorial colors (white, red, and blue) and reflects the heraldic palette of the municipal coat of arms.
