Summary

About the place: Bělkovice-Lašťany is a municipality in Olomouc District, Olomouc Region, Czechia, situated at the transition between the fertile Haná plain and the foothills of the Nízký Jeseník mountain range, approximately 10 km northeast of Olomouc. It was created in 1960 by merging the two historic villages of Bělkovice and Lašťany.

Flag Description: A green field with a red pile extending from the fly, bordered by a yellow chevron whose apex touches the center of the hoist edge. The arms of the chevron issue from one-sixth of the upper and lower fly edges. Above and below the apex of the chevron in the hoist area are two yellow six-pointed stars, each with a diameter of seven-eighteenths of the flag width. The ratio of width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The flag is derived from the municipal coat of arms granted in 1995. The yellow chevron and red pile represent the stylized shape and tinctures of an episcopal mitre, referencing the historical ties of the settlements to the Bishopric of Olomouc and related ecclesiastical institutions. The two yellow six-pointed stars symbolize the merger of the two historically separate communities, Bělkovice and Lašťany. The green field represents both the agricultural character of the fertile Haná region and the wooded foothills of the Nízký Jeseník range.
