Summary

About the place: Bílsko u Hořic is a small rural municipality located in the Jičín District of the Hradec Králové Region, approximately 4 km southwest of Hořice. Situated in the undulating landscape of the Jičín Uplands, it consists of two local parts: Velké Bílsko and Malé Bílsko.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of red, green, and white in a width ratio of 1 : 4 : 1. The wider central green stripe features two crossed white crossbow bolts pointing downward, with red fletching and points. The bolts are accompanied above and below by a yellow hop cone, and on either flank by a yellow hop leaf, all oriented outward. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The green field along with the yellow hop cones and leaves represent the agricultural heritage of the municipality and the regional tradition of hop cultivation. The crossed crossbow bolts (known historically in Czech as 'kluky') commemorate local history and the medieval stronghold held by local gentry since the 14th century. The red and white vertical stripes reflect the principal heraldic tinctures of the charges.
