Summary

About the place: Biskupice-Pulkov is a municipality in the Třebíč District within the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Jevišovice Uplands roughly 20 km southeast of Třebíč. Composed of the villages of Biskupice and Pulkov, it lies in a scenic rural valley along the Rokytná river and Pulkovský brook.

Flag Description: A blue field with a red chevron one-fourth the width of the flag wide, issuing from the lower hoist and fly corners with its apex at the upper edge of the flag, accompanied by three (2, 1) yellow roses. Within the chevron are two white lions rampant combatant (springing towards each other). The ratio of width to length of the sheet is 2:3.

Symbolism: The flag is directly derived from the historical coat of arms of the knights Walter of Waltersberg (a red chevron charged with two silver lions combatant, accompanied by three golden roses on a blue field), who held the domain in the 16th century and upon whose petition Emperor Maximilian II elevated Biskupice to a market town in 1570. The chevron symbolizes protection and shelter, the combatant lions represent courage and strength, and the golden roses allude to nobility and historical heritage.
