Summary
About the place: Biskupice (cadastral area Biskupice na Hané) is a municipality in the Prostějov District of the Olomouc Region, situated about 10 km southeast of Prostějov in the fertile lowland of the Haná region. It is a small rural village with documented settlement dating back to the early 12th century.
Flag Description: A white field charged with a red saltire, the width of whose arms is one-sixth of the hoist width. In the center is a black aurochs head (bison head) with a red tongue and a yellow nose ring. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.
Symbolism: The black aurochs head with a golden ring refers to the Lords of Pernštejn, who held the Tovačov estate to which the village historically belonged. The red saltire on a white background vexillologically abstracts the crossed red bishop's crozier and processional cross from the municipal coat of arms, commemorating the founding feudal lord, the Bishopric of Olomouc, from which the village derives its name.
