Summary

About the place: Brno-Útěchov is the northernmost, highest-elevated, and smallest city district of the statutory city of Brno, nestled in the wooded terrain of the Soběšice Highlands. Originally an independent rural village, it maintains a tranquil residential and recreational atmosphere surrounded by extensive forests.

Flag Description: A flag consisting of three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and blue in a width ratio of 1:2:1. In the central wider yellow stripe, two crossed black ragged staves (in saltire) are placed. The ratio of the flag's width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The two crossed black ragged staves in the yellow field represent the historical coat of arms of the noble Ronovci (Ronow) family and their branch, the Lords of Lichtenburg, founders of the nearby Ronov Castle to whose estate Útěchov historically belonged. The blue and yellow stripes derive from the district's coat of arms, where blue references Moravia (from which the Moravian eagle issues) and yellow/gold represents the field of the Lichtenburg arms.
