About the place: Brusque is a municipality in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, located along the Itajaí-Mirim River valley. Founded in 1860 by German immigrants, it is a prominent center of the regional textile industry.

Flag Description: The flag consists of a plain white rectangular field centered with the municipal coat of arms. The coat of arms features a green shield divided by a wavy silver/white bend sinister. In the upper left field (viewer's perspective), there is a yellow cogwheel enclosing a green circle with a yellow cross. In the lower right field, a yellow axe is displayed. The shield is surmounted by a golden mural crown with four visible towers. Below the shield is a red ribbon inscribed in white with '1860' on the left, 'BRUSQUE' in the center, and '1881' on the right.

Symbolism: The white field of the flag symbolizes peace. Green on the shield represents nature and agriculture. The wavy bend signifies the Itajaí-Mirim River flowing through the city. The cogwheel denotes industrial progress, the cross represents faith, and the axe honors the hard work of the early pioneers clearing the land. The red ribbon bears the year of foundation (1860) and the year of municipal emancipation (1881).
