Summary

About the place: Bubovice is a municipality in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located in the Beroun District within the Bohemian Karst (Český kras) Protected Landscape Area near Karlštejn and Svatý Jan pod Skalou. The village is known for its scenic limestone plateau landscape and a local airfield.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of yellow, blue, and yellow in a width ratio of 1 : 6 : 1. In the central blue stripe is a white mitre trimmed in yellow with lappets, adorned with red and green gemstones, flanked by two curved, facing yellow ears of grain, each with a single leaf. The width-to-length ratio of the flag is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The mitre recalls the village's ecclesiastical past and long historical ties to the Benedictine Order (originally Ostrov Monastery near Davle, later the provostry of Svatý Jan pod Skalou) as well as the historic local Chapel of St. Adalbert. The golden ears of grain represent the traditional agricultural heritage of the community and its former manorial farm. The blue and yellow colors are derived from the municipal coat of arms.
