Summary
About the place: Bučina is a municipality and village located in Ústí nad Orlicí District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic, situated in an undulating agricultural landscape about 7 km southwest of Litomyšl and 9 km southeast of Vysoké Mýto. The village is known for its rich religious heritage, notably featuring a 1786 Protestant tolerance church as well as the Church of Saint James the Great.
Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes, white and red. In the white stripe at the hoist is an upright green beech trefoil (three beech leaves). The ratio of the flag's width to length is 2:3.
Symbolism: The beech trefoil functions as a canting symbol directly referencing the village's name (derived from 'bučina', meaning beech forest or beech grove) and its historical foundation in a forested landscape. The white (silver) and red stripes derive from the municipal coat of arms (divided diagonally/bendwise silver and red), which also correspond to traditional Bohemian provincial tinctures.
