Summary

About the place: Budišov is a Moravian market town in the Třebíč District of the Vysočina Region, located approximately 11 km northeast of Třebíč. Situated in the undulating landscape of the Křižanovská Highlands, it is well known for its Renaissance-Baroque chateau.

Flag Description: A flag quartered red and yellow with an aspect ratio of 2:3. In the upper hoist red quarter stands a yellow ashlar masonry tower with a black gateway, four black square windows in a row, and a blue hipped roof adorned with two outward-pointing yellow pennants. Surmounting the tower is a white inescutcheon bearing a red pale.

Symbolism: The design of the flag is derived from the historic coat of arms granted to Budišov in 1538 by King Ferdinand I upon its elevation to a market town, at the request of Petr Mrakš of Noskov. The tower represents municipal privileges and defensive status, while the white inescutcheon with a red pale displays the ancestral arms of the Mrakš of Noskov family. The red and yellow quartering echoes the primary tinctures of the town's heraldry.
