Caetés is a municipality situated in the state of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil. The name of the town is derived from the indigenous Caetés people who inhabited the region during the sixteenth century. It is widely recognized as the birthplace of the Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
