Summary
České Velenice is a border town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, adjacent to the Austrian town of Gmünd. It developed around a railway workshop after the Emperor Franz Joseph Railway opened in 1869. The town was transferred to Czechoslovakia by the 1919 Treaty of Saint‑Germain‑en‑Laye.
