Český Krumlov is a historic town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, situated on the Vltava River. Its castle, founded before 1250 by the Vítkovci family, was first mentioned in a 1253 deed. The well‑preserved Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.
