Summary

About the place: Chcebuz is a historic village and an administrative part of the town of Štětí in the Litoměřice District, Ústí nad Labem Region, located about five kilometers northeast of Štětí in an agricultural landscape. The village is dominated by the late Baroque Church of Saints Peter and Paul and has roots dating back to its first recorded mention in 993 AD.

Flag Description: The flag is vertically divided into red and blue. In the red hoist half stands a white column topped with a yellow crown (capital) and entwined with a yellow branch. In the blue fly half is a vertical white raguly branch (trunk/ostrev) with three knots alternating diagonally upwards. The width-to-length ratio of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The symbols of Chcebuz, introduced in 2018 for the 1025th anniversary of the village's first written record, reflect key milestones in its heritage: The crowned white column entwined with a golden branch in the red field is derived from the arms of the Counts Pachta of Rayhofen, former lords and patrons of the parish church. The white raguly trunk (ostrev) in the blue field commemorates the Benedictine Archabbey of Břevnov, to which Duke Boleslav II gifted the village and church in 993 AD.
