Chlístovice

About the place: Chlístovice is a municipality in the Kutná Hora District of the Central Bohemian Region, situated in the undulating landscape southwest of Kutná Hora. Composed of ten local administrative parts, its territory notably encompasses the ruins of Sion Castle, renowned as the final stronghold of the Hussite captain Jan Roháč of Dubá.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes in a width ratio of 5 : 4 – white on top and embattled-indented red below, featuring three teeth one-ninth of the flag width high and four equal indentations. The white stripe bears a red ten-pointed star, while the red stripe bears a white wrapped arrowhead (odřivous). The ratio of the flag width to length is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The coat of arms and flag (granted in May 2018) draw directly upon the area's Hussite heritage and Sion Castle. The crenellated/embattled division represents the fortified Sion Castle, and the white wrapped arrowhead (odřivous) in the red field is the ancestral charge of the Lords of Dubá and captain Jan Roháč of Dubá. The red ten-pointed star in the upper field represents the ten constituent local settlements that form the modern municipality.
