Summary

Flag Description: Chlum is a municipality and village located in Plzeň-South District in the Plzeň Region, approximately 7 km northwest of Blovice and 16 km southeast of the center of Plzeň. It lies in the gently rolling, partially forested landscape of the Švihov Highlands.

Symbolism: The green stripe (and green mount in the coat of arms) serves as canting heraldry referring to the village's name ("chlum" historically denotes a wooded hill) and its topography. The white chapel with a red roof represents the local chapel as a prominent landmark. The lower half of the white lily refers to Marian symbolism and local spiritual heritage. The golden linden leaves flanking the chapel represent the Czech national tree and the rural village setting.
