Flag Description: A red field featuring a white rampant lion turned towards the fly, with yellow claws and tongue. The lion holds a brown spear-staff with a yellow tip, bearing a yellow two-tailed pennon flying towards the fly, charged with a red inescutcheon bearing a white horizontal fess. The width-to-length ratio is 2 : 3.
Symbolism: The flag is a direct banner of arms derived from the town's historic coat of arms. The silver/white lion in a red field is rooted in Bohemian heraldry, depicted turned towards the fly in accordance with the town's historical seal and armorial grant. The pennon bearing the Austrian Bindenschild (gules, a fess argent) reflects the historical Habsburg monarchical authority and town privileges.
