Summary

About the place: Choryně is a Moravian municipality in the Vsetín District of the Zlín Region, located in the Bečva river valley about 6 km northwest of Valašské Meziříčí. It has a predominantly agricultural character with a history dating back to the 12th century.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two vertical fields, white at the hoist and green at the fly. In the centre are two addorsed buffalo horns: in the white field, a black buffalo horn garnished with three red ploughshares, and in the green field, a white buffalo horn garnished with three yellow ploughshares. The width-to-length ratio of the sheet is 2:3.

Symbolism: The buffalo horns are derived from the coat of arms of the noble family of Ledska (Chorinsky of Ledska), who acquired the estate in 1480 and significantly shaped the history of the village. The ploughshares and green field symbolize agriculture, tillage, and the rural character of the municipality.
