Summary

About the place: Cidlina is a small rural municipality located in the southwestern part of the Třebíč District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, approximately 10 km northwest of Moravské Budějovice. It lies at an elevation of around 548 meters above sea level within the undulating agricultural and forested landscape of the Křižanov Highlands along the Cidlina Stream.

Flag Description: A rectangular flag with an aspect ratio of 2:3, consisting of a white vertical hoist stripe occupying one-fourth of the flag's length and a blue fly field charged with three upright white linden leaves arranged horizontally side by side.

Symbolism: The flag and coat of arms of Cidlina (designed by Ing. Karel Dvořák) were officially granted by the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament on 31 May 2005 (Decision No. 55). The design is derived from the village's historic 18th-century seal (documented in the 1749 Theresian Cadastre), which featured a tower flanked by plant and leaf motifs at its base. The three white linden leaves represent the national tree, celebrate the rural forested environment, and denote the three historical settlement localities of the municipality (the village itself, the Na Blatném gamekeeper's lodge, and the Brodek forester's house). The blue field reflects the field of the coat of arms and honors the local streams, particularly the Cidlina Stream from whose Old Slavic etymology meaning 'clear/pure water' the village draws its name; the white color corresponds to the silver tincture of the charges in the municipal arms.
