Summary

About the place: Dalečín is a municipality in the Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of Czechia, situated in a scenic valley along the meandering Svratka River within the Upper Svratka Highlands. The village is well known for the ruins of its medieval castle and its picturesque rural landscape.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes, blue and green, in a width ratio of 3:1. Standing on the green stripe are two white embattled ashlar towers, each with one red window, connected by an embattled curtain wall with a red gate. Between the towers in the blue stripe is a yellow six-pointed star. The ratio of width to length of the sheet is 2:3.

Symbolism: The white curtain wall with two towers and a gate represents the local 14th-century Gothic castle, whose ruins remain a prominent landmark of the municipality. The yellow six-pointed star is a heraldic emblem associated with the historic nobility and regional lords (the Lords of Pernštejn and Tasov). The blue stripe symbolizes the Svratka River flowing through the village, while the green stripe represents the verdant hills and forests of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
