Desná is a town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, situated north of Jindřichův Hradec. The municipality lies in the Křemešník Highlands, with the hill Deštná hora reaching 647 m and numerous fishponds dotting the landscape. It was first documented in 1294, received town status in 1418, and was historically part of the Rosenberg estate.
