About the place: Deštná is a historic small town located in the northern part of Jindřichův Hradec District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, situated near the famous water castle Červená Lhota. It lies in the gently undulating landscape of the Kardašova Řečice Uplands along the Dírenský brook.

Flag Description: Deštná (Jindřichův Hradec District): The flag consists of a green hoist stripe occupying one-fifth of the flag's length and a white field charged with a red five-petalled rose with a yellow seed and green sepals. The aspect ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The red five-petalled rose with a golden seed on a white (silver) field is the historic emblem of the House of Rosenberg (Rožmberk), who acquired the settlement in 1364 and granted it municipal and market privileges. The green hoist stripe represents the surrounding verdant, wooded landscape and agriculture, harmonizing with the green sepals of the rose.
