Summary

About the place: Dětřichov u Moravské Třebové is a small rural municipality in the Svitavy District of the Pardubice Region, located roughly 4 kilometres northeast of Moravská Třebová. It is situated in the rolling countryside along the historical border region of Bohemia and Moravia.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of red, embattled yellow, and red, in width proportions of 8:5:18. The central yellow stripe has five teeth and four indentations on its fly-facing side. In the hoist-side red stripe, three white six-petalled flowers with yellow centres are aligned vertically. The broad fly-side red stripe features crossed yellow wooden rakes. The ratio of width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The crossed yellow rakes in the red field derive from the arms of the Hrabišic dynasty (Lords of Rýzmburk), commemorating Boreš III of Rýzmburk, who granted the village as a fief in 1321 (the first historical mention). The embattled yellow stripe (representing an embattled bridge/wall in the municipal arms) symbolizes the medieval fortress that guarded the trade route and recalls an early historical name of the settlement, Mostečné (derived from 'bridge'). The three white flowers signify the agricultural nature and natural landscape of the village.
