Summary

About the place: Diváky is a wine-growing municipality in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the hilly Diváky Highlands approximately 6 km northeast of Hustopeče. It is well known for its Baroque chateau and as the former home and workplace of the prominent writer brothers Alois and Vilém Mrštík.

Flag Description: A green field with a width-to-length ratio of 2:3, featuring in the upper half a white turnstile/barrier (heraldic gate/trellis), and in the lower half a white fleur-de-lis on the hoist side (dexter) and a yellow bunch of grapes on the fly side (sinister).

Symbolism: The green field represents the agricultural landscape and the rolling Diváky Highlands. The white barrier/gate (Czech: šraňk) is derived from the coat of arms of the Barons von Levetzow, former holders of the local manor and chateau. The white fleur-de-lis symbolizes the Marian dedication of the local Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary as well as historical ties to the Herburga convent in Brno, while the yellow bunch of grapes originates from historical municipal seals and highlights the centuries-old viticultural heritage.
