Summary

About the place: Dlouhý Most (German: Langenbruck) is a municipality in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic, situated just south of the city of Liberec at the foothills of the Ještěd-Kozákov Ridge. It is a picturesque submontane village that also includes the settlement of Javorník with its prominent scenic hill.

Flag Description: A blue field bearing a centered white cross with arms one-sixth the flag length wide. Connecting the upper fly and lower hoist cantons is a bendwise curved green linden sprig with two leaves positioned in the vertical arms of the cross. In the arms adjoining the sprig are four outward-pointing blue maple leaves. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The centered white cross on a blue field serves as canting heraldry for the municipality's name (Dlouhý Most meaning 'Long Bridge'), recalling the historic wooden bridge constructed across wetlands along the trade route from Bohemia to Lusatia, while also representing a crossroads. The green linden sprig symbolizes Czech cultural heritage and the surrounding nature. The four blue maple leaves in the cross arms reference the municipal part of Javorník (from 'javor', Czech for maple) and the local sycamore maple forests, with the blue color evoking local streams and marshlands.
