Summary

About the place: Dobřív is a municipality and village in Rokycany District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, situated along the Klabava river at the foothills of the Brdy mountains. It is particularly renowned for its unique preserved water-driven forge hammer (hamr), which is a national cultural monument, and historic folk timbered architecture.

Flag Description: The flag consists of four horizontal stripes: green, white, wavy black, and green, in a width ratio of 1:5:1:1. In the white stripe, positioned towards the hoist (at the boundary of the hoist and central sections), is an open green laurel wreath tied at the bottom with a red ribbon. Within the wreath are two crossed black forge hammers with brown handles, surmounted by an erect blue fork and a red ribbon. The ratio of the flag's width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The crossed forge hammers commemorate the centuries-old ironworking heritage and the village's historic water-powered iron forge. The laurel wreath symbolizes honor and the acclaimed craftsmanship of local blacksmiths. The blue fork and the wavy black stripe represent the Klabava river and the millraces that powered the forge, while the green stripes reflect the surrounding forested Brdy landscape and black evokes coal and iron ore.
