Dokuchaievsk is a city in the Kalmiuske Raion of Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. It originated in 1912 as a mining settlement named Olenivski Kariery and gained city status in 1954, named after soil scientist Vasily Dokuchaev. The city lies on the Sukha Volnovakha river, near Donetsk and serves as the centre of an urban hromada.
