Summary

About the place: Dolní Bezděkov is a small rural municipality located in the Chrudim District of the Pardubice Region, approximately 7 km northwest of Chrudim. It is characterized by its tranquil countryside setting and agricultural tradition with roots tracing back to the 14th century.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two vertical stripes, green and red. In the green stripe is an upright white sword with a yellow hilt pointing towards the upper edge, underlaid by two crossed yellow ears of grain, each with an outward leaf. In the red stripe are two diagonal white stripes (bendlets) extending from the second and fourth quarters of the hoist edge of the stripe to the first and third quarters of the fly edge of the flag, each charged with a red rose with a yellow seed. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The green field and crossed ears of grain represent the fertile agricultural landscape, nature, and the farming tradition of the village. The upright sword evokes the medieval roots of the local gentry and noble protection dating back to the 14th century. The red and white tinctures, along with the diagonal bands and roses, reference the heraldic arms of historical nobility associated with the manor.
