Summary

About the place: Dolní Rožínka is a municipality and village in the Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Křižanov Highlands about 9 km southwest of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. The village is known for its chateau surrounded by an extensive English-style park and its 20th-century history of underground uranium mining.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of white, red, and white. The hoist-side white stripe features two crossed black ragged staves (fire-sticks), the central red stripe bears a yellow fire with three flames, and the fly-side white stripe displays crossed black mining hammers. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The white and red colors are derived from the arms of the Counts Mitrovsky of Nemyšl, long-time owners of the estate. The golden flames on the red stripe serve as a canting element referring to the popular folk etymology of the village's name linked to kindling watchfires ("rožnění"). The black ragged staves recall medieval ties to the Lords of Lipá (the Ronov family branch), while the crossed mining hammers represent the modern era of uranium ore extraction.
