Dorsten

Dorsten is a town in the Recklinghausen district of North Rhine‑Westphalia, Germany, situated on the Lippe River near the Wesel‑Datteln Canal. Its origins trace back to the Neolithic, with Roman military presence recorded in the first century BC. Granted city rights in 1251, Dorsten developed as a trade centre at the border of Westphalia and the Rhineland.
