Summary
About the place: Doubravice is a municipality in Trutnov District, Hradec Králové Region, Czechia, situated in the rolling landscape of the Giant Mountains foothills southwest of Dvůr Králové nad Labem. It comprises three administrative parts: Doubravice, Velehrádek, and Zálesí.
Flag Description: A white flag with a horizontal black stripe of one-tenth of the flag's width centered along the horizontal midline (proportions 9:2:9). Growing from the upper edge of the black stripe into the upper white stripe is a lemon balm plant in natural colors with three green leaves (the outer two angled outwards) and two white blossoms between them. In the lower white stripe are three (2, 1) blue roundels, each encircled by red flames. The ratio of width to length is 2:3.
Symbolism: The black fess on a white (silver) field is derived from the coat of arms of the knights Bukovský of Hustířany, who were linked to the early history of the village. The lemon balm plant serves as a canting charge, rooted in the Old Czech name for the herb ("dúbravník" / "dúbravice"). The three flaming blue roundels in the lower section are taken from the heraldic arms of the Borečský of Železno family, holders of a portion of the estate in the early 16th century. The number three (three leaves and three roundels) also signifies the three constituent parts of the municipality (Doubravice, Velehrádek, and Zálesí).
