Summary

About the place: Dřísy is a municipality and village in the Prague-East District of the Central Bohemian Region, situated in the fertile Elbe lowland at the foot of Mount Cecemín, roughly 8 km north of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav. The area is renowned for its agricultural heritage, particularly vegetable farming and historic viticulture.

Flag Description: A white flag with a green embowed wedge issuing from the second to fourth fifths of the top edge, terminating at its apex in a vine leaf touching the bottom edge of the flag. Within the wedge, a princely cap set within a yellow ring. Above the vine leaf, the wedge is flanked by two red bunches of grapes. The ratio of width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The green embowed wedge, the vine leaf, and the red grapes represent Mount Cecemín and the local winemaking heritage, traditionally recognized as the site of Bohemia's oldest vineyard (St. Wenceslaus Vineyard). The princely cap within a yellow ring honors Bohemia's patron saint and patron of winemakers, Prince St. Wenceslaus, who legend says tended the vineyard himself, while also referencing the village's early ducal foundation.
