Summary

About the place: Drnholec is a South Moravian market town in the Břeclav District, situated on the left bank of the Thaya (Dyje) River within a traditional wine-growing and agricultural region near the Nové Mlýny reservoirs. It features a rich history centered on its Renaissance chateau and preserved historic architecture.

Flag Description: The flag of Drnholec has a width-to-length ratio of 2:3. The sheet is divided horizontally into a top blue stripe occupying half the hoist width, and a bottom half divided vertically into four alternating stripes of white and black.

Symbolism: The flag is directly derived from the historical coat of arms of the market town: the blue upper half references the field tincture of the Moravian provincial arms, while the four alternating white and black vertical stripes in the lower half represent the ancestral arms and tinctures of the Lords of Teuffenbach, who held the domain in the 16th and 17th centuries and drove its golden age of development.
