Summary

About the place: Dubčany is a municipality located in the Olomouc District within the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the fertile Haná region west of Litovel. It is notable for its remarkably well-preserved early Slavic roundling village layout (okrouhlice) featuring a single original entrance.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes, yellow and blue. In the center is an erect green acorn with a yellow cupule, flanked in the yellow stripe by two erect green oak leaves turned towards each other, and in the blue stripe accompanied by an upward-pointing yellow crescent. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The green acorn and oak leaves serve as canting symbols, referencing the municipality's name (derived from 'dub', oak) and the local historic oak woodlands. The golden/yellow crescent on blue is derived from the coat of arms of the 14th-century local noble family Medvídek of Dubčany.
