Summary

About the place: Duffel is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp in Flanders. Situated along the river Nete, it is historically famous for its textile industry, which gave its name to the heavy woolen fabric used for duffle coats.

Flag Description: The flag consists of seven vertical stripes, alternating yellow and red (yellow, red, yellow, red, yellow, red, yellow). In the central red stripe, three white fleurs-de-lis are arranged vertically one above the other.

Symbolism: The flag design is derived from the traditional coat of arms of Duffel. The seven yellow and red vertical stripes combined with the three white fleurs-de-lis represent the historical lords of the Berthout family and the ancient domains that formed the municipality.
