Summary

About the place: Durbuy is a city and municipality in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, located in the Walloon Region. Situated in the valley of the river Ourthe, it is often referred to as the smallest city in the world.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two vertical stripes: light blue on the left (hoist side) and white on the right (fly side). In the center of the flag is the municipal coat of arms featuring a shield with seven horizontal stripes (alternating white and blue) charged with a red rampant lion with a split tail. The shield is surmounted by a golden coronet.

Symbolism: The blue and white colors are the traditional colors of the city. The red lion on alternating white and blue stripes derives from the historical coat of arms of the Duchy of Luxembourg, to which Durbuy historically belonged.
