Summary

About the place: Fót is a town in Pest County, Hungary, located within the Budapest metropolitan area about 17 km northeast of the capital's center. It is best known for its monumental Romantic-style Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Neoclassical Károlyi Palace.

Flag Description: The flag is diagonally divided per bend from the lower hoist corner to the upper fly corner into an upper blue field and a lower green field. In the center sits the coat of arms of Fót outlined in white. The shield is blue with a green triple mount at the base, supporting two yellow (gold) church towers with black window openings. On the green mount below are two vertical silver coulters/plowshares. Between the towers rests a smaller blue inescutcheon featuring a golden crown, a golden eagle, and a bust motif at the top.

Symbolism: The blue and green fields of the flag symbolize the sky, nature, and the agricultural landscape of the region. The two towers in the coat of arms represent Fót's iconic twin-towered church, while the coulters on the green triple mount recall traditional agricultural heritage and elements of the local Károlyi family heraldry.
