Summary

About the place: Habry is a historic town in the Vysočina Region (Havlíčkův Brod District), situated in the Upper Sázava Hills along the historic Habry merchant route connecting Bohemia and Moravia.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of white, red, and white in a width ratio of 1:3:1. In the hoist half of the red stripe, there is a white key with the ward facing upwards and towards the hoist, surcharged by a bendwise-sinister pointing white sword with a yellow hilt pointing towards the upper edge. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The colors and the emblems of the key and sword are derived from the town's historical coat of arms granted by King Charles IV in 1351. The key signifies the town's strategic status as an entry gate along a crucial trade road as well as municipal privileges, while the sword denotes military defense, jurisdiction, and fortitude. The red and white (silver) colors reflect traditional Bohemian heraldic colors.
