Summary

About the place: Hainchen is a district of the town of Netphen in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the southern Rothaargebirge region near the border with Hesse.

Flag Description: The flag is a vertical banner divided into two equal vertical stripes – yellow on the left (heraldic dexter) and blue on the right (heraldic sinister). Centered over the partition line is a pointed heraldic shield divided horizontally into five alternating blue and yellow bars. The blue bars are charged with yellow fleur-de-lis (three in the chief, two in the middle, and one in the base). Above the shield, the name 'Hainchen' is inscribed in black Gothic script. The aspect ratio is approximately 1:2.5.

Symbolism: The colors of the flag (yellow and blue) are derived from the historical coat of arms of the former municipality and the noble family Lords of Hainchen (von Hainchen). The heraldic fleur-de-lis and the striped layout reference the historical heritage connected with Hainchen Castle (Burg Hainchen) and its local lineage.
