Summary
About the place: Haňovice is a municipality and village in Olomouc District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the fertile Haná plain about 2 km southwest of Litovel. Characterized by agriculture and rural heritage, the municipality also encompasses the hamlet of Kluzov and features a former Renaissance chateau.
Flag Description: The flag consists of a white hoist stripe, one-third of the flag's length wide, latticed blue, and a red fly field charged with a white wedge pointing to the fly, with its apex at one-third of the flag's length. The white wedge is charged with a blue fleur-de-lis. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.
Symbolism: The design of the flag and coat of arms derives from local heritage: the blue fleur-de-lis and red-silver tinctures evoke former historical nobility (the Lords of Zástřizl) and regional spiritual roots, while the blue lattice and white pile/wedge represent the historic medieval fortress and subsequent Renaissance chateau.
