Summary
About the place: Havraň is a municipality in Most District, Ústí nad Labem Region, located in the flat agricultural landscape of the Most Basin about seven kilometres south of Most. Its prominent historical landmark is the Gothic, later Baroque-altered Church of Saint Lawrence set on a low hill south of the village.
Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes in a width ratio of 4 : 3 : 1. The upper stripe is vertically divided into white and yellow; the hoist white field displays a black bull's head caboshed with a red tongue, while the fly yellow field displays a black stag's head caboshed. Extending into the middle blue stripe from the bottom green stripe is a white church with its tower towards the fly. The tower features a single window and a red tented roof topped with a yellow pommel and patriarchal cross; the nave features two black arched windows, a lower chancel, and a red gabled roof. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.
Symbolism: The bull's and stag's heads in the upper stripe replicate an authentic Gothic stone relief carved on the south entrance porch of the local Church of Saint Lawrence, alluding to the coats of arms of medieval patrons or founders. The white church set against the blue stripe on a green base directly depicts this prominent hilltop sanctuary and principal historical landmark of the village.
