Summary

About the place: Herálec is a municipality and village in the Havlíčkův Brod District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Křemešník Highlands about 13 km southwest of Havlíčkův Brod. It is well known for its historic neo-Gothic chateau (Chateau Herálec) surrounded by an English-style landscape park.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of blue, horizontally divided black-yellow, and blue, in a 1:2:1 width ratio. In the center of the flag is a horizontally divided white-red tower, masoned black in the lower section, with battlements, a black arched gateway, and a black arched window. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The battlemented tower with a gateway represents the local medieval fortress and the prominent Chateau Herálec. The white and red division of the tower reflects the heraldic colors of the Trčka of Lípa noble family, longtime holders of the domain, while the black, yellow, and blue tinctures stem from the municipal coat of arms and the colors of other historical rulers of the estate.
