Summary

About the place: Herink is a municipality in the Prague-East District of the Central Bohemian Region, situated roughly 16 km southeast of downtown Prague. It is a growing suburban and residential community retaining its rural origins near the capital city.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of blue, white, and red in a width ratio of 11 : 2 : 11. In the blue stripe are three white herrings arranged vertically one above the other; in the red stripe is a demi-fleur-de-lis in white, adjacent to the central white stripe. The ratio of the flag's width to its length is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The three herrings serve as a canting symbol (pun on the Czech dialect word 'herinci' and the village's name Herink). The demi-fleur-de-lis on red recalls local historical feudal ownership and regional heraldic tradition, while the narrow central white stripe reflects the silver palet dividing the shield.
