Herval is a municipality in the southern part of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, situated near the Piratini River which once marked the colonial border. The town lies close to the current Uruguay‑Brazil frontier, with the Jaguarão River further south. Its economy is based on agriculture and it hosts an international rodeo festival each January.
