Higashiyoshino, Nara

Higashiyoshino is a village in Yoshino District of Nara Prefecture, Japan. The municipality lies in a mountainous area with peaks such as Mount Kunimi and Mount Takami. It is historically noted as the site where the last Japanese wolf was shot, a specimen now kept at the British Museum.
