Hikawa is a town in Yatsushiro District of Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. It lies on the Yatsushiro Plain and borders the Yatsushiro Sea to the northwest, with the Hikawa River flowing through it. Historically the area belonged to Higo Province and retains a blend of coastal and agricultural landscapes.
